Yo Dirt Runners! all Packets and team info will be ONLINE! You will be responsible for printing them this year.
Where: Pinckney State Park, Half Moon Lake-Lower Beach Area, Hell, MI
Directions: Take US-23 North from I-94, or South from I-96 to Exit #49, North Territorial Rd. Go West 12.2 miles (this is accurate) to Hankerd Rd. Turn Right, (North) and go 1.7 miles to Pinckney Recreation Area, Half Moon Beach entrance. It’s on the left.
The start/finish line is just around the corner on the left. If you get to the boat launch area you’ve gone too far. (And you'll drive into the lake!)
Check-In: Ultra runners must check in at the Friday night party (this is preferred so we'll bribe you with free beer!) or Saturday morning, before the start. Number bibs & last minute information will be handed out at check-in. Friday Check-in is 5-9PM at Half Moon Lake. Saturday race day check-in opens at 5 AM. Try to make the Friday Check-in!
Official Vehicle Sign: Must be displayed in rear window at the entrance booth at Half Moon Lake!
Daily Park Pass: Must have MI DNR Recreation Passpost on vehicle.
Pre-Race Parking & Car Pool: Expect parking insanity, park in designated areas. Please car pool to the event in one vehicle if possible. There are many "Park & Ride" lots close to US-23 (i.e. Lee Rd & US 23) or arrange to meet at other convenient locations.
Headlamp/Flashlight: The Start is in the DARK! Bring some light or wander around the woods until the sun comes up.
Dirt Numbers: All runners must wear their race number visible on the front. Ultra numbers will be different than relay teams.
Thank the Volunteers & Sponsors: Running the race is easier!
Shameless Plug: Shop at Running Fit! Buy Running Shoes! www.runningfit.com
Refreshments: Food (pizza!) and refreshments at the finish area.
Ultra Awards: Overall awards to first male and first female to cross the finish line based on gun time. Top 5 in each 5-year age group for each event presented immediately when you finish.
Aid Stations: Ultra aid stations will be stocked with water, gatorade, assorted gu packets, PB & J, boiled potatos, salt, chips, coke, peanuts, oreos, bananas, oranges, candy....BUT if there is something you want that you simply cannot take another step without, you should make sure you bring it yourself! just in case an aid station has, well, run out! We do our best to overstock, but every year, there seems to be a different popular item, and there's just no accounting what it will be this year!
